After four years in the market, the Audi Q2 range was given a mid-cycle refresh, and it was this iteration that was recently subjected to the moose test.
For the challenging maneuver, Km77 chose the S line 35 TFSI version, which uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit with 150 PS (148 HP / 110 kW), coupled to the optional seven-speed S tronic transmission. It is also fitted with 19-inch wheels shod in 225/40 Potenza S001 tires from Bridgestone.

So, how did it do? Well, it passed. However, there’s a bit more behind that answer, because it barely did so, at 77 km/h (48 mph). All other attempts at higher speeds resulted in Audi’s smallest crossover hitting the cones or failing to return to its lane after swerving to avoid the imaginary obstacle in the middle of the road.
According to the Spanish YouTube channel, this is actually an improvement compared to the pre-facelifted version of the Q2 that they tested in 2016, which failed the moose test, as it did not exceed 73 km/h (45 mph), 4 km/h (2.5 mph) short of the minimum requirement.
Now, the 2021 Q2’s achievement is definitely nothing to write home about, but it did fare better than a lot of other cars, some of them supposedly sportier, such as the BMW M235i Gran Coupe. The Bavarian automaker’s sporty premium subcompact model disappointed last year, as it couldn’t stay within the cones at speeds over 68 km/h (42 mph). BMW’s model performed worse than the 2020 Volkswagen Golf, for instance, which did it at 69 km/h (43 mph), and it is comparable to the new Suzuki Jimny, which completed the course at the same speed.
