The Mazda CX-8 has been updated in Australia for the 2021 model year with the introduction of two new variants dubbed the Touring SP and the Asaki LE.
Sitting at the top of the 2021 CX-8 range is the new Asaki LE featuring a six-seat layout just like the available ‘Captain’s Seat’ setup as the larger CX-9. The cabin of this variant is bathed in quilted Nappa leather seat upholstery available in Chroma Brown or Pure White. Further adding to the luxurious appeal of this model is a large console between the second-row seats and complete with two cup holders, USB charging, and buttons for the heating and ventilated functions.

Powering the CX-8 Asaki LE is a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission and an i-Activ AWD system.
The second variant introduction for the 2021 model year is the Touring SP. This variant can be fitted with either a 2.5-liter petrol front-wheel drive powertrain or the same 2.2-liter turbocharged i-Activ AWD system as the Asaki LE and other CX-8 variants. Differentiating the Touring SP from other models are unique black metallic 19-inch alloy wheels, black across the front grille and mirror caps, and a Black Maztex / Black Grand Luxe synthetic suede combination upholstery with red stitching. Other features include black interior trimmings and ten-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat.
A multitude of other CX-8 variants are on offer in Australia. The range starts off at AU$39,990 (US$31,296) for the Sport Petrol FWD and tops out at AU$69,920 (US$54,719) for the flagship Asaki LE Diesel AWD.
