Hyundai has announced the 2022 Tucson will start at $24,950 when it goes on sale in the United States this spring.

Kicking things off is the entry-level Tucson SE, which features bold styling and LED headlights with high beam assist. Other niceties include an acoustic laminated front windshield and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The interior is value-focused, but features air conditioning, power windows / locks and stain resistant cloth seats. Drivers will also find a four-speaker audio system and a “low cost” 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Rounding out the highlights are remote keyless entry and a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster.

On the safety front, there are a handful of driver assistance systems including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist and Rear Occupant Alert.

Moving up the trim ladder is the $26,500 Tucson SEL. It features additional equipment including LED taillights, rear privacy glass, roof rails and heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators.

The cabin becomes more welcoming thanks to heated front seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and an upgraded 8-inch infotainment system with Blue Link and SiriusXM. Other niceties include a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a proximity key, additional USB charging ports and rear air vents.

Drivers will find a more comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems including Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Safe Exit Warning and Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist. The SEL also boasts Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist and an upgraded Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system with Pedestrian, Cyclist and Junction Turning Detection.

Customers looking for more luxury can add a $2,600 Convenience package which includes a sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate and 19-inch alloy wheels. The package also adds a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient interior lighting and an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink. Last but not least, there’s a leather-wrapped steering wheel, digital key technology and soft-touch door panels with fabric accents.

The $4,300 SEL Premium package includes all the aforementioned equipment as well as leather seats with heating and ventilation up front. Other extras include a Bose audio system and a slightly revised exterior with dark chrome accents and premium LED lights.

The Tucson N Line starts at $30,600 and features a sportier exterior with unique 19-inch alloy wheels. The model also has leather / cloth seats, a black headliner and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Other highlights include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a wireless smartphone charger.

One step up is the Tucson Limited, which begins at $34,700. It features a more upscale exterior with silver painted skid plates, additional chrome accents and gloss black rear pillars.

The model ups the ante in terms of luxury as buyers will find heated and ventilated leather front seats with eight-way power adjustment on both sides. They’re joined by heated rear seats, a heated leather steering wheel, voice recognition technology and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation.

The Tucson Limited comes with premium driver assistance systems such as Highway Drive Assist, a Surround View Monitor and a Blind View Monitor. There’s also Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, Front / Rear Parking Distance Warning and Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control.

All of the aforementioned models are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 187 hp (139 kW / 190 PS) and 178 lb-ft (241 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system for an additional $1,400.

Buyers looking for something more eco-friendly can opt for the Tucson Hybrid which starts at $29,050 and comes standard with all-wheel drive. It features a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

This setup gives the crossover an estimated combined output of 227 hp (169 kW / 230 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. Besides being more powerful than standard model, the hybrid variant is expected to be 30% more fuel efficient.
