The world was shocked when the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was announced with a $59,995 starting price and equally surprised that the 2021 model had the same starting price. Now, however, Chevrolet has decided to jack up the car’s price by $1,000.

Starting from March 1, all 2021 Corvette Stingray models will now start at $60,995, the car manufacturer confirmed to Corvette Action Center. This $1,000 price increase has been applied across all trim levels, meaning the base 1LT Coupe starts at $60,995, the 2LT Coupe is available from $68,295, and the 3LT Coupe starts at $72,945. All Convertible variants are also $1,000 more expensive than they were prior to March 1.

“The MSRP of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible at all trim levels will increase by $1,000 beginning March 1,” Chevrolet confirmed in a statement. “Customers who have event code 1100 sold orders and beyond by March 2 will not be impacted by the price increase on the 2021 Corvette Stingray. We monitor and adjust pricing on all our products regularly, and we’re confident the Corvette remains a winning formula of performance and attainability.”

Of course, increasing the price of the Corvette by such a small amount will likely have no material impact on demand for the sports car. After all, it remains extremely good value for the money and easily undercuts its rivals on price. As production of the C8 Corvette continues, we wouldn’t be shocked to see the car’s price increase each model year as Chevrolet continues to improve the car and add new features.
