This is the Chieftain Extreme and it is a restomod two-door Range Rover Classic that has been overhauled so comprehensively it actually doesn’t share all that much in common with a normal Range Rover Classic.

For starters, the company has developed a bespoke chassis for the iconic off-roader and fitted it with a new fully-independent suspension. Brakes from AP Racing have also been fitted. Chieftain then turned its focus to the Range Rover’s powertrain.

Powering the off-roader is a GM-sourced 6.2-liter supercharged LS3 V8 engine delivering roughly 700 hp. Coupled to the V8 is an eight-speed transmission powering all four wheels and no doubt making this thing an absolute beast to drive. Chieftain hasn’t published acceleration or top speed figures for the Extreme but the non-supercharged V8 models that it also builds can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.2 seconds and top out at just over 130 mph (209 km/h), so some significant improvements over those figures can be expected.

Extensive changes have also been made to the exterior of the Range Rover Classic. The front fascia, for example, includes a matte black grille and new circular headlights. There’s also a prominent LED light bar and the obligatory ‘Chieftain’ badge. Elsewhere, the Extreme features black six-spoke wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. Modifications have also been made to the rear fascia of the vehicle. Heck, there’s even side-exiting exhaust pipes.

No pricing details have been released for this particular restomod from Chieftain but we do know that the company’s most basic Range Rover restomods start at a touch over $200,000.
