It’s never a good idea to run from the police, especially if it puts others’ safety at risk. And in the case of this video, the driver does exactly that as he not only evades police, but also drives on the wrong side of the road, fails to stop at red lights, and breaks through barriers.
The incident took place in Wola Radziszowska, a town in Poland. The Mazda driver had reportedly failed to pull over for a traffic stop, forcing police in the Kia behind to pursue him. It seems as if his plan was to lose the police car at the train crossing, and to some degree it worked, albeit at a cost.

When the driver reached the train tracks, there was a line of stopped cars and the crossing arms had already come down. But rather than stopping and owning up to his traffic offense, he veers into the opposite lane and drives straight through the barriers. The resulting impact split one of the arms and sent a piece through the Mazda’s windshield, nearly impaling the driver in the process.

Despite that, he kept on going. Soon, we see that the crossing train was not too far from the intersection, only adding another layer to the story. While the original patrol car had (wisely) stopped before the tracks, the police were eventually able to apprehend the Mazda driver, who was subsequently charged with reckless driving/endangerment, damage to property, and failure to obey a police officer.
