Genesis produces some very fine vehicles but to really establish itself as a true contender in the premium car space, it needs to compete with some of the most popular luxury vehicles on the market.
With this in mind, the car manufacturer’s marketing department in the U.S. recruited the help of four automotive and lifestyle journalists to test the G80 and GV80 against the BMW 840i Gran Coupe and Range Rover Sport respectively.
The first video features Nicky Jaynes from Road & Track as well as Kevin Suntumuang from Esquire and shows them testing the G80 and the 840i Gran Coupe in the streets of New York City. Both of the journalists are left with very positive impressions of the Genesis.

The second clip is presented by Car and Driver contributor Mara Balgatas and Harper’s Bazaar editor Kerry Pieri. Both SUVs are tested on the highway and along a simple off-road trail.
More comprehensive reviews of the 2021 GV80 have confirmed that it is an excellent luxury SUV that is a legitimate rival to the German establishment. One of the most intriguing features of high-end GV80 models is the remote-control parking feature that can be operated with the key, perfect if you’re stuck in a narrow parking space.
Flagship variants are outfitted with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm), although an entry-level 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) is also offered.
