Expert coachbuilder Niels van Roij Design has released new sketches of their forthcoming Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage.
The Belgian company first previewed its project earlier in the month and as the name suggests, it is an homage to the original Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brake.
The new teasers reveal that the car will feature an elongated nose with thin headlights and yellow accents. It also has a large grille with horizontal slats, just like the original one-off, while from the sides we can see that it features an elongated roofline and a classic shooting brake shape. At the rear there’s an upright window that neatly incorporates the taillights, quad tailpipes and a center divider across the glass rear compartment.

Niels van Roij Design haven’t disclosed what car the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage is based on, but the teasers show a windshield and roof that mimic those of the Ferrari 599 GTB. The coachbuilder has previously specified that the donor car is a “two-seat model… produced from 2006 until 2013” by “an Italian automobile manufacturer,” and the 599 GTB fits the bill perfectly.
If this is the case, the car should retain the 599’s 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 with 611 hp and 448 lb-ft (608 Nm) of torque that was available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automated manual. Even if the company keeps this engine in stock form, the car is bound to be an impressive performer.
