Hennessey Performance Engineering is best known for tuning domestics, but they’re turning their attention to the McLaren 765LT.
As part of an upcoming program, the company will push the mighty ‘Mac’ to 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS). This should drop the 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) time to 2.1 seconds, which founder John Hennessey described as “just nuts.”
As part of the $24,950 (£17,971 / €20,848) upgrade, the 765LT will be equipped with high-flow air filters and a recalibrated ECU. The model will also be outfitted with a stainless steel down pipe as well as “necessary gaskets and fluids.”

That’s it for the performance changes as the other updates are cosmetic, and include “Hennessey” and “HPE1000” emblems for the exterior. There will also be serial numbered dash and engine plaques.
As a refresher, the McLaren 765LT has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 755 hp (563 kW / 765 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a seven-speed SSG transmission which enables the supercar to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
Those numbers are impressive in their own right, but John Hennessey said “The new 765LT is underrated from the factory. We tested it on our in-house dyno and it delivered about 765 hp (570 kW / 776 PS) – at the rear wheels. This means it’s producing closer to 865 hp (645 kW / 877 PS) in bone stock form.”
