For the second time in nine months, the lear jet-based limousine known as the ‘Learmousine’ will cross the auction block.
The Learmousine first came to the world’s attention back in 2019 when it was featured in an episode of Ridiculous Rides. The owner allegedly paid more than $1 million bringing the car to life and at the time, was only willing to part ways with it for a hefty $5 million.
Mecum Auctions brought the vehicle to its Indy sales event running from June 23-28, 2020 but it failed to sell, with bidding topping out at just $600,000. Once again, Mecum Auctions will try to shift the car, this time at its Indy 2021 auction, running from May 14-22.

Built by a man by the name of Dan Harris in Bend, Oregon, the unique limousine used to be a private jet before Harris took the fuselage and mated it to a custom steel frame that reportedly took two years or research, design and development to construct. Adorning the exterior of the limousine is Dark Candy Red paint and as it is no longer operational as a plane, the side-mounted jet turbine engines have been replaced with speakers.
Powering the Learmousine is an 8.1-liter Chevrolet Vortec V8 truck engine with 400 hp and while the vehicle weighs 12,000 lbs (5,443 kg), it can still hit 100 mph (160 km/h).
When it was being auctioned last year, the limo was to be sold with a 44-foot trailer and a 2015 Chevrolet 2500 HD to haul it. The listing for the upcoming auction in May fails to make any mention of whether or not the truck and trailer are still included in the sale.
