Jay Leno’s collection is filled with heaps of very interesting automobiles and one of these is a 2014 Morgan 3 Wheeler.

While many readers may only be familiar with the modern 3 Wheeler from Morgan, the British car manufacturer actually started first manufacturing three-wheelers in 1910.

Leno’s 2014 model is powered by a 2.0-liter S&S V-twin engine more fitting of a motorcycle and located in front of the bodywork. This V-twin produces 115 hp and is coupled to the same five-speed manual transmission as a Mazda Miata. According to Leno, the gearbox is a joy to use, just like it is in the Miata.

Unlike many other sports cars to come out of the UK, the Morgan 3 Wheeler was never designed to be a track day weapon. Instead, it is all about minimalism and delivering a superb driving experience and, according to Leno, that’s where it excels.

Leno recounts a story where he was cruising on Mulholland Drive and flew past a police officer at what he thought was at least 60 mph (96 km/h) in a 40 mph (64 km/h) zone. Much to his surprise, the cop didn’t chase after him, prompting him to do a U-turn and ask the officer why he wasn’t pulled over. The cop quickly informed him that he was only doing 37 mph (59 km/h), perfectly demonstrating the sense of speed that the 3 Wheeler gives drivers.
