Lamborghini has revealed that it will release two V12-based models this year.
The Italian car manufacturer mentioned these two new models at the end of a press release related to the company’s 2020 financial results.
“This year, the Huracan STO will be joined by two further new products, based on the iconic V12,” the statement reads. Unfortunately, no further details are provided about these models, leaving us to guess what they could be.

In all likelihood, they will be based on the Aventador as it isn’t due to be replaced just yet. A mysterious Aventador (pictured below) was spotted in August last year without a traditional engine cover and instead simply a decorative piece of carbon fiber and an X-cross member above the engine. This prototype also featured a unique rear bumper and diffuser, two hood pins on the engine cover, and an exhaust setup similar to the Aventador SVJ.
If this variant of the Aventador launches this year, that leaves us with one other mystery V12 model. One possibility is that it will be another one-off commissioned by a wealthy customer, much like the SC20.
There are also some rumors online that Lamborghini will look to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Countach prototype’s unveiling at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show with a special edition of the Aventador, potentially limited to just 100 units globally.
Whatever Lamborghini has up its sleeve, you can be sure it will be exciting.
