If you’re tired of increasingly bland new cars, or can’t bring yourself to accept BMW’s new design direction, then may we interest you in this time-capsule 325iC?

This minty-fresh BMW E30, up for sale on BringATrailer, has done just 40,000 miles (64,000 km) and is located in Lexington, South Carolina. Acquired by the owner in June 2018, this 325iC M-Technic is one of just 150 cars produced for the 91 model year.

Although a 91 model, the design screams pure 80s, right down to the factory “Brilliant Red” color and M-Technic pinstriping. The M Technic package would be the precursor to the M Sport line of cars we see today. A genuine M Technic car, it includes the aerodynamics package, which included unique front and rear bumpers, body-color trim, fog lights, and M Technic badging.

The BAT listing notes that this E30 was originally an automatic. The original transmission has since been swapped for a more desirable (rebuilt) five-speed manual. The addition of a limited-slip differential was made for good measure. Also replaced are the grille and headlights, the owner opting to install the European versions.

Inside, you get an even greater dose of M-Technic goodness. The sports seat centers are finished in M-Technic cloth, while the sides and bolsters are in leather. The door card fabric matches the seats, and the center console features extended leather trim. The 325iC features an electric fabric hood that is still operational and hasn’t been converted to manual. Also present is BMW’s early on-board-computer, an example of what would later morph into the infotainment systems we see today.

Although the hood and front fenders have been repainted, the E30’s Carfax report lists no accidents. The car has been paint-corrected and ceramic coated, while the BBS wheels were refinished in 2018.

Power is delivered by a 2.5-liter straight-six engine, which, when new, produced 168 hp. The last oil change was performed in June of last year, and a service in July 2018 included a radiator flush and replacement of the timing belt, battery, alternator, steering column knuckle, and water pump.
