Mazda MX-30 Wants To Electrify Australia, Starts At AU$33,990

Set to arrive in showrooms in the second quarter of the year as a mild hybrid, with the electric variant due later in 2021, the 2021 Mazda MX-30 will be offered in three grades in Australia.

The G20e Evolve has a starting price of AU$33,990 (US$25,897) and is equipped with 18-inch wheels, an 8-inch infotainment system, 7-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, smartphone integration, Bluetooth, digital radio, sat-nav, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers and dusk-sensing LED headlamps.

For the G20e Touring, customers will have to pay at least AU$36,490 (US$27,802). This grade adds advanced keyless entry, auto-dimming mirror on the driver’s side, power adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, different seat upholstery and illuminated front vanity mirrors.

Starting at AU$40,990 (US$31,230), the range-topping G20e Astina features different 18-inch wheels, a glass sunroof, heated front seats and steering wheel, black cloth upholstery, 360-degree camera system, heated side mirrors and adaptive LED headlights.

Standard safety systems across the 2021 MX-30 range include blind spot monitoring, driver attention alert, emergency lane keeping with road keep assist and blind spot assist, forward collision warning, hill start assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, rear parking sensors, reversing camera and radar cruise control. The G20e Astina adds cruising and traffic support, front cross traffic alert, front parking sensors and driver monitoring system.

The 2021 MX-30 M Hybrid combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, making 114 kW (155 PS / 153 HP) with the Mazda’s M Hybrid system. Power is channeled to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid crossover returns 6.4 l/100 km (36.75 mpg US) on average and emits 150 g/km of CO2.
