Center-locking wheels at some point made the jump from race cars to hardcore-oriented sports cars and exotics, and the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series can now be ordered with such an exclusive set.

Mind you, they are not factory items but are available by Wheelsandmore instead, and they’re offered in several shades and one size for now: 9×20-inch on the front axle and 12×20-inch on the rear, shod in Michelin S-Cup2 285/30 front and 335/30 rear tires.

Review: Top Gear Discovers What Makes The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series So Special

Named the UD-1, the front rims weigh 9 kg and the rear ones 12 kg (20-26 lbs) and feature an aluminum-magnesium alloy central locking nut, locking counter screw, bolt circle adapter made of the same material as the nut, and hubcap with magnetic lock. Displaying the tuner’s logo in the middle, they are TUV approved in Germany, where the set, which is limited to 25 units, has an introductory price of €16,557 (equaling to $19,992), excluding tax.

Complementing the looks of the AMG GT Black Series are the uprated brake calipers, available in different colors, while Wheelsandmore is also working on a sports exhaust system.

Apart from the rims and brakes, this AMG GT Black Series has a control unit available from the tuner that raises the output of the twin-turbo V8 to 789 PS (778 HP / 580 kW) and 870 Nm (642 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the German supercar to accelerate up to 336 km/h (209 mph).

By comparison, the stock model, which has 730 PS (720 HP) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) and starts at $325,000 in the USA, excluding destination, has a maximum speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). It also needs 3.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), and less than 9 seconds to hit the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark.
