A low-mileage 1992 Lexus SC 400 is looking for a new home and while the $22,500 asking price may seem like quite a lot, the it sure isn’t a car you see all that often.
Lexus introduced the SC in 1991 and built the first-generation model until mid-2000. Topping out the range was the SC 400 and this unit, which is up for sale at eBay, appears to have been well cared for. It is located in Reno, Nevada and has just 16,829 miles under its belt.

As its name suggests, the SC 400 is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 that sits behind the front axle, technically making the car front-mid-engined. This V8 was good for 250 hp and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) in its early years, giving it a touch more grunt than the SC 300 that had a 3.0-liter inline-six with 225 hp and 210 lb-ft (285 Nm). By the end of the first-generation SC 400’s production run, it had been upgraded with Toyota’s VVT-i technology and delivered 290 hp and 300 lb-ft (407 Nm).
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The car sits on 16-inch, 10-spoke wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GSD tires.
The exterior of this model is finished in Burgundy while the interior is clad in tan-colored leather. Key features include automatic climate control, vanity mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, power windows, a vehicle theft-deterrent system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
