The Pagani Zonda was first unveiled way back in 1999 and while production officially ended in 2019, it appears as though the Italian marque is continuing to build one-offs.
A single image recently emerged of a previously-unseen Zonda model displayed at the Pagani facility and while mystery surrounds the car, it could very well be the most insane Zonda built to date.
The car is unofficially known as the Pagani Zonda R Barchetta and as that name suggests, it is a Barchetta variant of the iconic track-only Zonda R. It also follows on from the limited-run Zonda HP Barchetta, restricted to just 3 units worldwide with each commanding a €15 million price tag.

As the car is based on the Zonda R, it features a similar front fascia with striking aerodynamic elements, canards, and a sharp carbon fiber front splitter. The same fixed rear wing of the regular Zonda R is also featured, as are the air intakes on the rear wheel arches. These aerodynamic looks have then been joined by the same low-slung windshield as the HP Barchetta. The car also features silver rollover hoops, a carbon fiber air intake, and much like the original Zonda C12, the wing mirrors are located at the top of the A-pillars.
Making the car stand out even further is a unique paint scheme on the front-end combining shades of blue, red and silver. This paint scheme appears to continue across the rear wing and rear quarter panels.
It remains to be seen if the Zonda R Barchetta is a one-off or if it will be made in limited numbers.
