New details are starting to emerge about entry-level models for Jeep and Alfa Romeo.
According to sources who talked to Automotive News Europe, a new Jeep based on PSA’s Compact Modular Platform will go into production in Poland next summer.
Little is known about the vehicle at this point, but it will reportedly be a small crossover that uses PSA engines. The model could also be offered with an electric powertrain as well as an all-wheel drive system that uses a rear-mounted electric motor.

The Jeep will reportedly be followed by a CMP-based Alfa Romeo crossover in January of 2023. It’s slated to slot beneath the upcoming Tonale and could potentially be called the Brennero.
Later that summer, the plant should begin building a new Fiat. It’s slated to be based on the CMP platform as well, but virtually nothing else is known about the model. While it could potentially be a new Panda, this seems unlikely as previous reports have suggested that model will ride on the same platform that underpins the 500.
While a lot of questions remain, when the investment for the vehicles was announced last year, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister confirmed “Modern, hybrid and electric cars of the Jeep, Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands will start to leave the factory in Tychy in 2022.” This suggests the upcoming models will offer an assortment of electrified powertrains.
