At the start of 2020, Richard Hammond took delivery of a unique 2020 Morgan Plus Six that had its interior specced out from Drivetribe readers. Unfortunately, the car is no more.
The British journalist and presenter is an avid Morgan enthusiast and appeared delighted when he was first handed the keys to the Plus Six. However, in a new video, he has revealed that the car was destroyed in a flood on Christmas Eve last year.

Hammond doesn’t go into detail about the damage sustained to the Morgan and when quizzed about whether it can be repaired, says that it has actually been crushed. He owned the car for just under a year and says he loved it, adding that he took it on a roadtrip to France in between lockdowns in the UK last year.
Adorning the interior of the Morgan was bright red leather that was voted on by Drivetribe readers. The exterior of the car was also quite intriguing as the body panels were finished in a combination of gloss black and matte black.
Giving the Plus Six its punch is a BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder, the same engine as used by the BMW Z4 M40i and Toyota Supra. Hammond’s car was equipped with an upgraded exhaust system, ensuring the car punched out a touch more than the standard 335 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
