Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show last October, the Roewe iMax 8 is a luxurious minivan that has some features you won’t find on any other car.

The exterior of the Roewe iMax 8 is quite eye-catching and features intricate LED daytime running lights and LED signatures in the taillights. The Chinese automaker has also equipped it with a unique geometric pattern on the D-pillars and the front spoiler, a nice touch that this reviewer is particularly fond of.

However, it is in the cabin where the best features of the iMax 8 are found. In addition to featuring a large infotainment system sitting atop the dashboard, the MPV neatly brings together all of the major levers and switches into one panel below this screen.

The coolest feature, however, is the center console. It comes complete with capacitive buttons and if you touch one particular button, it slides from in between the front seats to between the rear seats. What’s more, it houses a tea set and even has a small refrigerator.

As standard, the Roewe iMax 8 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 234 hp and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque. This engine works alongside an eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission and the reviewer states that the MPV delivers smooth performance, although he does note a bit of noise, vibration, and harshness above 3,000 rpm.
