Few cars represent German over-engineering like the Mercedes-Benz 190E. And this 1992 car is a near-perfect example that’s being offered without reserve.
Although the 190E isn’t exactly rare, since during its 11-year life Mercedes sold more than 1.8 million units, one in such good condition doesn’t come around all that often.
Finished in Arctic White paint over blue cloth seats, the 190E has been meticulously maintained, according to the seller. The one disadvantage, though, is that it features a small 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that makes only 106 hp.
Used very sparingly, the car has just 11,899 miles on its odo and has spent most of its life hidden under a fitted car cover that is included in the sale. In fact, since 2013 it has traveled just 1,000 miles. It has been started and warmed up occasionally and driven to its MOT certification test.

This 190E is also offered with all of its paperwork and a selection of original add-ons. These include the original toolkit, as well as a book pack and wallet.
“It’s clear to see this owner has cherished this car,” said Chris Pollitt, head of editorial for Car & Classic, which is handling this sale. “Thanks to being carefully stored when not in use, and having hardly been driven anyway, everything is just as it should be; seals aren’t cracked, the plastics are still black and show no signs of bloom. The tires are the only thing to have been changed due to expiry/age rather than mileage.”
Originally purchased in Guernsey (a British island closer to France than England) the car has since moved to the UK. The sale starts on March 7 and runs until March 14.
