If you want a demonstration on how not to exit a parking lot, look no further than this video.
Very few details about this clip have been provided but it appears to have been filmed somewhere in Asia and shows a Toyota making a break for it and attempting to “escape” from its owner.
The dashcam footage shows the female driver of the Toyota exiting the car in order to pay for parking and open up the boom gate to the parking lot. All of a sudden, the car starts to accelerate forward and smashes through the boom gate.

The driver can be seen running alongside the car as it crosses onto a road but is powerless to stop it. The Toyota only grinds to a halt when it slams into the side of a parked car.
It’s hard to say with certainty what happened here but in all likelihood, the driver simply left the car in drive and failed to apply the handbrake. Of course, there’s also a possibility the car experienced some kind of mechanical issue that saw it slip out of gear and accelerate forward.
The extent of the damage caused to the Toyota and the car it hit is unclear but in all likelihood, the Toyota will at least need a new bumper and grille while the doors of the vehicle it hit may need to be replaced.
