Update: We asked Toyota about the motives behind the survey and it told us that: “While a sales process for the GR Super Sport has not yet been determined we are having preliminary conversations with potential customers who might find a vehicle like this to be of interest.”

After unveiling its entry into the Le Mans hypercar class, Toyota now looks like its courting customers for the road-going version.
A questionnaire caught by Reddit user HodorDurden seems to be gathering information from customers who might be interested in ordering what it is tentatively calling the “GR Super Sport.”
Along with questions about customers’ car collections, motorsport viewing habits and whether they’ve owned (or still own) a Toyota 2000GT or Lexus LFA, there’s an intriguing section asking survey-takers about their expectations for the GR Super Sport.
The first, and more interesting, section that’s titled “Your interest and expectations for GR Super Sport (Tentative)” includes things like exterior design, durability and reliability to win a 24-hour race, and rarity and asset value as a vehicle.

Unfortunately, none of this offers us any info about the road-going GR Super Sport. We do know, however, that in race trim it will use a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 along with an electric motor to power the front wheels. Together, they will produce a regulation-limited 670 hp. Reports have suggested that the road car, meanwhile, could crest 1,400 hp, as it is not restricted by WEC rules.
Questionnaires for potential supercar owners aren’t exactly new. Ford GT customers famouslyhad to fill out a buying application. Naturally, being an application it was a little more thorough than this survey, but it asked many of the same questions about previous vehicle ownership and track experience.
We’ve reached out to Toyota to figure out exactly what it wants to get out of this survey, but it’s the weekend , so we haven’t heard back yet. We will update this story with any relevant information.
