Fans of Ferrari look away now: this one isn’t pretty. In case we didn’t need any more proof that access to a supercar doesn’t make you a super driver, this video serves as a reminder that talent is still a requisite — especially if you’re trying to show off.
The incident took place in Turkey, likely earlier this week. It looks to be a classic case of wanting to put on a little razzle-dazzle for the camera phone, as what appears to be a Ferrari 458 Italia Spider loses the rear and clatters the central reservation.
The video starts devoid of drama, as the black prancing horse begins to pull out of a car wash forecourt. Things quickly take a dive for the worse as the driver mashes the loud pedal, spinning up the rear tires faster than he can control. The entire incident is over in a few short seconds. The slide began as mildly impressive — likely the intended tail-happy for viral success. It may even have gotten a cheer had it not been for the paved divider.

The car’s left rear then wheel makes contact with the central reservation. Any semblance of the driver being in control is quickly thrown out of the window as the car continues to pivot the other way before mounting the curb, finally ending up pointing in the wrong direction.
Details of who exactly was driving are hazy. A few social media commentators are saying it was an employee of the car wash, but most are saying it was the car owner themself. Either way, we wouldn’t like to hazard a guess of the repair bills for the 458, nor would we want to be doing the explaining to authorities that may have seen the video since.
Whoever was responsible, may we suggest a little more finesse on the gas next time?
