Volkswagen has released a new teaser of ‘Project Trinity,’ the innovative new electric vehicle that will sit at the top of its EV range.
This teaser outlines a car with an innovative design unlike any other current Volkswagen model. It has four doors, including what seems to be suicide doors at the rear, a sleek roofline, an LED light bar at the rear, and short front and rear overhangs. Of course, this is likely just an early model of a concept car that will be used to preview the eventual production model.

Volkswagen is expected to begin production of the Project Trinity in 2026. When it does launch, it will be underpinned by a bespoke new architecture and feature electric powertrains and battery technology far more advanced than what the German car manufacturer is currently using. It will also be capable of Level 4 autonomous driving.
“Trinity is a sort of crystallization point for our Accelerate strategy, a lighthouse project, our software dream car,” Volkswagen brand chief executive Ralf Brandstatter recently said. “We are using our economies of scale to make autonomous driving available to many people and to build a learning neural network. In this way, we are creating the conditions for the continuous exchange of data from our vehicle fleet – for example, on the traffic situation, on obstacles, or on accidents.”
In addition to teaser Project Trinity, the LinkedIn post from VW Group chairman Herbert Diess includes a teaser of an all-electric and all-autonomous semi-truck from MAN that lacks a cab for a driver.
