Jeep is providing extra peace of mind to Renegade 4xe owners by launching the My Theft Assistance feature.
Currently available in the United Kingdom for the plug-in hybrid version of the subcompact SUV, it is offered as part of the My Uconnect services.
The feature will allow owners to choose how they want to be notified is their ride is broken into or towed away, with options including text messaging, phone call, email or a simple push notification in the dedicated mobile app.

If the vehicle is stolen, owners can request further assistance through the My Uconnect app, which unlocks additional safety technologies when the theft is confirmed by the police. Similar to the ‘find my phone’ technology available on smartphones, the vehicle tracking function will be triggered and the ignition will be locked.
“The increase in car thefts across the UK is cause for concern and an experience that owners will be looking to avoid at all costs”, said Jeep UK country manager Damien Dally. “The innovative theft assistance technology will undoubtedly give Jeep owners, and future buyers, peace of mind that their car and possessions are in the safety possible hands.”
Available in the Limited, Longitude and Trailhawk trim levels in the UK, the Renegade 4xe has a starting on-the-road price of £32,600 ($45,080). The plug-in hybrid powertrain produces up to 240 horsepower for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration of 7.1 seconds. The Renegade 4xe uses a six-speed automatic transmission, has on-demand all-wheel drive, three driving modes and can travel for up to 26 miles (42 km) on zero emissions.
