Buying a brand new Aventador S in the U.S. will set you back over $400,000, but if you’re after a V12-powered, mid-engined Lamborghini for much less than that, there are plenty of used Murcielagos out there. This example up for auction through Bring A Trailer is one of the nicest we’ve come across.
As this is a 2006 model, it is not an LP640 variant and, therefore, features a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V12 rather than a 6.5-liter V12 like later variants of the Murcielago and the Aventador. As such, it is down on power compared to its predecessors but still delivers 571 hp and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. Something the Aventador cannot match, however, is the driver interaction offered by a Murcielago like this as it is equipped with a six-speed gated manual shifter sending power to all four wheels.

The listing reveals that this Murcielago is for sale in New Jersey with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title. It has benefited from a handful of modifications, including a remote-controlled Capristo valved exhaust and a Pioneer head unit.
Adorning the exterior of the Murcielago is a shade of silver known as Grigio Antares, while the car sits on staggered-width 18-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli tires measuring 245/35 up front and 335/30 at the rear.
The cabin features seats clad in black leather with red contrast stitching and a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. The auction reveals the car has only been driven 14,000 miles (~22,500 km) and as a result, the interior looks to be in excellent condition.
