Retired a few months ago due to stricter emission regulations, the Skoda Kodiaq RS has made a comeback for 2021 with a new engine.
The 240 PS (237 HP / 177 kW) bi-turbo 2.0-liter diesel no longer powers the sporty mid-size SUV, which is now offered with a 2.0-liter TSI petrol unit that is 60 kg (132 lbs) lighter and delivers 245 PS (242 HP / 180 kW).

It still has a seven-speed DSG transmission and all-wheel drive, but the performance details have yet to be announced. Even so, it should complete the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in around 6 seconds, considering that the Seat Tarraco can do it in 6.2 seconds when equipped with the same engine. The old diesel-powered Kodiaq RS took 7.0 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and maxed out at 220 km/h (137 mph), 8 km/h (5 mph) less than the Tarraco TSI.
The RS-specific front and rear aprons, glossy black finish for the grille that’s flanked by full LED Matrix headlights as standard, black look for the roof rails and window surrounds, rear reflector spanning across its width and 20-inch Sagitarius alloy wheels set it apart from the rest of the 2021 Kodiaq family.
Inside, it has a pair of sports seats up front with integrated headrests and extra side bolstering, black Suedia microfiber and red stitching in a diamond pattern. The Virtual Cockpit is standard and features an extra ‘Sport’ layout on the 10.25-inch display.
The 2021 Kodiaq RS, which is known as the Kodiaq vRS in the United Kingdom, will join the regular lineup in Skoda showrooms starting this summer.
