The front and rear end of the 2022 BMW 2-Series Coupe were outed just over a year ago and now we’re getting an undisguised glimpse of the car’s profile.
Posted by Decoches, the image reveal the upcoming model will have streamlined bodywork and flush-mounted door handles. We can also see a prominent shoulder line and a familiar greenhouse.
While it’s hard to be certain, the redesigned 2-Series appears slightly larger than its predecessor. The roof also seems a bit flatter and this could result in a roomier interior.

The latest image only shows the side of the car, but previous pictures have revealed the front end will adopt a wider grille that thankfully avoids the ‘buck tooth’ look of the 4-Series. The model will also have recessed headlights and angular air intakes with vertical air curtains at the outside edges.
Out back, there will be a heavily stylized bumper with vertical reflectors and a prominent diffuser. We can also expect larger taillights and a trunk with an integrated spoiler.
Spy photographers have already snapped interior pictures and they have revealed a more modern cabin with a digital instrument cluster as well as a larger infotainment system. They’ll be joined by higher quality switchgear, metallic accents and fancier door panels.
BMW has been tight-lipped about the car, but it will likely come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces approximately 255 hp (190 kW / 259 PS). It should be joined by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with around 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS). The company is also working on a new M2 and it will likely have a detuned version of the twin-turbo straight-six that powers the M3 and M4.
