Having shown that there isn’t much of a difference in terms of quarter-mile acceleration between the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, Hennessey now pinned the latter against the new mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.
Both rides are bone stock, with the three-row SUV having less than 100 miles (160 km) on the odo. However, since it will soon welcome their HPE1000 upgrade, with around 1,000-horsepower, the tuner figured it would be a good moment to test it out against the C8 ‘Vette.

And they did so at the Pennzoil Proving Grounds, organizing two quarter-mile drag races. Mind you, the result is quite surprising, as it was actually a flawless victory. We won’t tell you which one went across the finish line first, as that’s something you’ll have to see for yourselves.
Don’t go scrolling down just yet, because we’ve yet to speak about the output and torque numbers, which are on the Durango’s side. The 710 HP and 645 lb-ft (874 Nm), supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine rockets it to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds and up to a maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
The mid-engine Corvette uses a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 that kicks out 495 HP and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque when ordered with the performance exhaust system. From 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h), it needs less than 3 seconds officially, it can run the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 121 mph (195 km/h), and flat out, it can do 194 mph (312 km/h).
