Ford representative Mike Levine has taken another jab at Tesla fans. The renowned Twitter character posted a screenshot of a tweet from @Model3Owners asking Tesla’s CEO for help with the mounting costs of solar roof contracts.
The tweet quoted claims that the account is being inundated with direct messages asking for help with solar roof contracts that have allegedly doubled since the originally quoted price.
“I don’t know what to say to these poor people,” the tweet writes. “Can Tesla reach out to them please? Thanks.”
Elon, I’m flooded with DMs about people getting solar roof contracts that have in some cases doubled in pride since originally quoted. I don’t know what to say to these poor people. Can Tesla reach out to them please? Thanks

Levine captioned the photo “Tesla doubling quoted prices for its products? Better get Ross on it.”

The tweet is a reference to a recent interaction between Mike Levine and Tesla booster Ross Gerber, president of Gerber Kawasaki, a wealth and investment management firm.
In March, Gerber tweeted that Ford had no business comparing itself to Tesla, pointing to dealer markups for the Mach-E. Levine responded by calling Tesla vaporware and called on Tesla to return customers’ money for the FSD feature.

Levine looks to be calling out Gerber, pointing to these allegedly inflating solar roof prices as worse than Ford dealers marking up the prices of Mach-Es. Although Ford’s dealers have been accused of problematic markups in the past, Ford has tried to crack the whip on markups for its first EV.
The Ford executive, though, may again be wading into troubled waters, as Tesla fans have been known to pile on against people who contradict their worldview.
