The folks at Hennessey Performance have big plans for the Ram 1500 TRX and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat.
As standard, both of these vehicles feature the beloved 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 with a touch over 700 hp. While that’s enough for most customers, Hennessey always looks to push the boundaries and has revealed it is working on Hellephant-powered variants of the TRX and Durango SRT.
In a new video posted to YouTube, John Hennessey reveals that the tuner managed to acquire a handful of Hellephant engines from Mopar and is working on slotting them into the duo.

This insane engine displaces 7.0-liters and features a massive supercharger that helps it to churn out 1,000 hp. Mopar originally designed the Hellephant engine to be used in pre-1976 vehicles but a number of tuning shops have instead decided to slot it into more modern vehicles.
As John Hennessey points out in the video, the company already offers 1,000 hp packages for the TRX and Durango SRT Hellcat but says his team may decide to modify the Hellephant engine, noting that it can probably be bumped up to 1,200 hp without too much fuss.
While we have become quite accustomed to insanely-powerful production cars hitting the market in recent years with big-capacity engines, the truth is that we don’t have all that many years left to enjoy such cars before electric vehicles become the norm and ICE-powered vehicles are largely killed off.
