The driver of a white Kia Stinger in Dearborn, Michigan was lucky to avoid causing a massive pile-up after aquaplaning back in March.
This dashcam footage was shared online by Instagram user bearded_rs and initially shows the driver of the Stinger cruising along the left lane of the three-lane road. However, the moment the road widens to include another lane to the left, the driver of the Kia hits the throttle.

Unfortunately for the driver of the Stinger, there was a large puddle in the left lane and they end up driving right through it at high speed. The driver quickly loses control of the sports sedan and the car starts fishtailing down the road. It then spins out directly in front of traffic, forcing other motorists to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting it. Remarkably, the Stinger avoided making contact with any other cars, although that’s probably not due to the driver’s skills but rather dumb luck and the quick reactions of the other drivers.
Clearly embarrassed by the incident, the driver slots the Stinger into reverse and quickly reverses up a side street. Well, embarrassed or not, they should count themselves lucky that they got away without any harm done.
