The world has been talking about the Ferrari 812 ‘Versione Speciale’, which is the internal name for the new edition, for many months now and it is now being reported that the car will be unveiled on May 5th.
This date comes from Ferrari Chat user Marcel Massini, a hugely respected Ferrari historian and Ferrari restorer. He adds that lucky Ferrari clients on the list to buy the hardcore variant of the Ferrari 812 Superfast will get their first look at the car on April 21.

Ferrari confirmed the impending unveiling of the car in a recent video sent to prospective clients that was leaked online. What Ferrari hasn’t said is how many units of the special version of the 812 will be produced but current reports suggest that the Italian car manufacturer will build 899 coupes and 499 convertibles.
Much like other hardcore variants of Ferrari’s flagship V12 Grand Tourers, such as the 599 GTB and F12tdf, the 812 VS will benefit from a plethora of styling changes and aerodynamic upgrades. Prototypes spied testing in recent months have been covered in thick body cladding helping to hide many of the design changes but we expect to see distinctive front and rear bumpers, enlarged air intakes, and a new diffuser at the rear.
An image reportedly showing the roof and engine cover of the 812 VS leaked online in early March and while it hasn’t been verified, it showed an 812 lacking a traditional glass rear window, giving it a very unique look.
Ferrari is expected to work its magic on the 812 Superfast’s 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12, bumping power to beyond the 799 hp mark of the limited-run Monza models.
