Reports of a flagship Audi A8 L that would revive the Horch name have been swirling since 2018, but the German car manufacturer has yet to introduce such a model.
On paper, launching a flagship A8 L to rival the latest Mercedes-Maybach S-Class seems like a logical step, but for whatever reason, Audi hasn’t pulled the trigger, despite confirming a new flagship A8 during its 2019 annual general meeting. While we await the launch of such a car, Kolesa has rendered how a potential A8 L Horch (name unconfirmed) could look.

In creating their dream flagship Audi A8, they have kept the styling changes to a minimum. Obviously, the car pictured is based on the facelifted A8, a car that has yet to debut, meaning it is too early to say if a Horch version would indeed look like this.
Up front, Audi could make the Horch variant stand out by fitting a new grille with vertical slats finished in chrome. The luxury sedan has also been rendered with chrome trim across the front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper, as well as the exhaust surrounds. Audi would inevitably also equip the A8 L Horch with unique wheels.
Obviously, most of the upgrades made to the car will be found throughout the cabin. For example, we expect to see plush new seats for those in the second-row, high-end materials, and heaps of technology to put it on equal footing with the Maybach S-Class. If it ever gets built, that is.
