Manhart has revisited the BMW M2 Competition, giving it a discreet makeover, new wheels and suspension, and more power.

Named the MH2 500, the package is limited to only ten examples, each one featuring their MHtronik control unit. This boosts the output and torque of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from 410 PS (404 HP / 302 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft), to 518 PS (511 HP / 381 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).

The tuner didn’t say how quick the M2 Competition is with this upgrade, yet we’re likely looking at a few tenths of a second shaved off the official 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4.3 seconds in the standard car. Moreover, it would probably smoke the new M4 Competition Coupe in straight-line acceleration, considering that the bigger (and heavier) model has 510 PS (503 HP / 375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft).

Manhart has also reinterpreted the design of the vehicle with a body kit inspired by the more hardcore M2 CS. The new front lip, diffuser and boot lid spoiler are made of carbon fiber, and are complemented by the 9×20-inch front and 10.5×20-inch rear wheels, shod in 245/30 and 285/25 tires respectively. It also has 100 mm (4 in) carbon tailpipes and sits closer to the ground. You may have noticed that unlike their usual projects, the MH2 500 doesn’t feature any gold trim on the outside, as the tuner went for silver in this case, which provides a contrast to the black body.

Rounding out the changes is the additional display inside, which replaced the left central air vent and gives readings for different powertrain parameters.
