The cat, or in this case, Toyota’s redesigned Land Cruiser, is out of the bag for good. The hotly anticipated revamped 300 series has been photographed and filmed on multiple occasions, with the latest batch of media coming from Instagram user Hirofumi Shiomi (@shomegranbill). Given that these images appear to have been shot at a shipping yard, it shouldn’t be long before Toyota comes out with an official release on the J300 codenamed Land Cruiser. Original story follows below. [Updated 4/28/2021]
The Toyota Land Cruiser (J200) is over a decade old, but the company is working on an all-new model. While we’ve heard bits and pieces about it, a series of images have surfaced on social media purportedly showing the SUV undisguised.
As you can see, the model features an evolutionary design but adopts an all-new front fascia that is bound to be controversial as the grille is surrounded by a U-shaped intake. Elsewhere, there are slimmer headlights and a more aggressive front bumper.

The rest of the design is pretty familiar, but the soft curves have been replaced by sharper lines. We can also see more pronounced wheel arches, door-mounted mirrors and a revised greenhouse that echoes the one found on the Lexus GX / Land Cruiser Prado.
A handful of interior pictures surfaced as well and they show analog gauges separated by a large digital display. We can also see a new steering wheel and a modern center stack.

The latter is topped by a freestanding infotainment system, which resides above an assortment of climate and infotainment controls. There is a mix of buttons and toggles, and they control everything from the heated / ventilated front seats to the speed of the fan.
Further below, there is a drive mode selector and dedicated buttons for off-road features. We can also see a transfer case selector with 4 High and 4 Low modes.
Toyota has been tight-lipped about the SUV, but speculation has suggested there will be a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 as well as a hybridized version of that engine. Overseas, there could be a 3.3-liter V6 diesel as well.
While a lot of questions remain, the Toyota Land Cruiser J300 is expected to be introduced this summer. Insiders have also suggested the model will return to the United States as the current SUV will be dropped after the 2021 model year.
Thanks to Ken for the tip!
