Ferrari only ever built 499 examples of the 16M Scuderia Spider and one of these is currently up for sale through Copart after a rather unfortunate accident.
This rare 16M Scuderia Spider is being sold with a salvage title after it was damaged while being transported. It remains to be seen just how the rare Italian supercar was damaged during transit but the listing confirms it was deemed a wreck due to damage sustained down its left side. Importantly, however, the rest of the car remains in good condition.
The listing reveals that the car was wrecked with just 2,768 miles (4,454 km) on the clock and is being supplied directly by the insurance company that covered it. It remains fully functional and resides in Sun Valley, California.

A look at the images provided confirms that the front wheel arch, door, and rear quarter panel on the left side have all been damaged and will need to be replaced. The front and rear bumpers have also been damaged. Of the 499 models that Ferrari built, just 120 are thought to be on U.S. shores.
Like the standard F430, the 16M Scuderia Spider is powered by a 4.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine but thanks to a host of modifications, it now revs to 8,500 rpm and produces 503 hp and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque.
With just over a day left in the auction, bidding was sitting at $81,500 at the time of writing. That’s pretty cheap, especially when you consider that there is another 16M Scuderia Spider on sale in the U.S. with a $408,888 asking price.
