On the 21st of March this year, 24 Porches from multiple different eras were documented being loaded onto a team of car carriers. The cars would travel 500km across the country to take part in the “Renn Beach Drive 3”.

It’s an event organized by Renn Drive, a group of car enthusiasts who hold the German brand a special place in their hearts. The Renn Drive group has usually exercised their Porsches with around two to three tours annually, the most recent one being a three-day tour that results in 1,100km journeys that includes destinations like Chumpon, Surat Thai, Phang Nha, and Krabi.

This year’s line-up includes a series of beautiful examples from many different times of Porsche manufacturing that showcase German automotive craftsmanship at its absolute finest. The cars participating come in different shapes and sizes, including vintage 911’s, nippy Boxsters, SUVs, as well as a very special RWB which can be observed in a video documented by Edd Ellison, who was fortunate enough to witness these beautiful machines being loaded onto their car transporters, prepared for the journey.

In his video, Ed explains how the cars are transported to preserve the amount of mileage on them, a factor that apparently plays a significant role in car value in Thailand. Ed is able to provide some unique footage of the cars being driven up on to the carriers in the hands of a capable team of technicians at IMPACT. While giving us a glimpse of some of the cars that will make the journey, it all reminds us of one of how the brand has evolved over the years.
