While the idea of owning a tactical, armored vehicle may sound absolutely insane to many, there remains a market for such vehicles and if you want one, now is your chance as this armored creation is up for grabs on Facebook.
The vehicle you’re looking at is dubbed the Gurkha and it comes from Terradyne Armored Vehicles in Ontario, Canada. The vehicle has been in production since 2011 and is used by law enforcement and other government agencies around the world, including in parts of Canada, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and select states throughout the U.S.

This particular Gurkha is a 2012 model and like all others, is built around the chassis and drivetrain of a Ford F-550 XL. It is powered by a 6.7-liter V8 turbocharged diesel with 400 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque and the seller notes the Gurkha has only accrued 4,100 miles and less than 220 hours of run time on the motor.
The seller claims that the Gurkha has been extensively upgraded and features new paint and a military spec coating by Phoenix Coatings. It also sports aftermarket wheels with run-flat tires and has been fitted with a $27,500 Icon long-travel suspension. The glass is no less than three-inches thick and $11,000 has been spent upgrading the interior, which now includes a sound system.
Given its nature, the Gurkha features B7 armor plating and according to the seller, a .308 armor-penetrating bullet fired at 20 yards “literally bounces off with no visible damage.”
The asking price is a cool $385,000. Evidently, armored tactical vehicles don’t come cheap.
