The Chevrolet Apache remains one of the car manufacturer’s most iconic pickup trucks and while some would argue that it is best left stock, the owner of this particular example obviously thinks different.
The star of a new video from AutotopiaLA is an Apache that is truly unlike any other you’ll find. The most significant modification made to the truck is the fact that the original chassis has been replaced with that of a Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. Of course, you can’t simply take a new chassis and expect the bodywork of a truck from the 1950s to fit right on.

As such, the crew behind the car shortened the wheelbase by seven inches and fitted new axles both front and rear. In addition, the truck is rocking a custom suspension system with bespoke leaf springs and Fox remote-reservoir adjustable shocks. The rear also features air suspension that means the truck’s ride can be leveled out even it is carrying a heavy load.
The exterior of the truck is largely stock. In fact, those that built it decided against making any alterations to the bodywork and left it as it was, although they did apply a new clear coat to freshen things up.
To round things off, this special 1959 Apache is rocking a 560 hp LS3 V8 from a Chevrolet Camaro with an aftermarket camshaft. It also features an aftermarket braking system, something that comes in handy when you add so much extra power.
