A map alleging to be a part of the playable area of the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto Series has surfaced online.

Although Rockstar has not yet released any official information about the game and has barely acknowledged its existence, the map that was posted to Imgur is fueling speculation among gamers.

Since there has been no official information about where GTA 6 will be set, rumors have suggested a number of locations. The most popular, though, is that the series will reprise the “Vice City” location that was featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Those rumors were started when another leaked map showed a city section with the number 1985 over it. The shape of this new map is fueling those rumors because it appears to show different sections of the same map.

Vice City was based on 1980s Miami and the similarity of this map’s shape to Florida, therefore, makes sense.

The map, if legitimate, also suggests that GTA 6’s playable area will be similar to GTA V’s. The dense city on the north-eastern part of the map suggests that players will be able to explore both urban and rural areas.

That is, of course, if this turns out to be legitimate. But Rockstar maps have leaked before. The studio’s recent ode to the Western genre, Red Dead Redemption 2, had its map leak years before the release of the game.

A recent posting from the company for a job reported on by Charlie Intel and Rockstar‘s upcoming appearance at E3, video gaming’s biggest American trade show, suggest that something is coming and fans hope that the studio will officially unveil the game.
