Having undergone major changes last year, Aston Martin has ambitious goals for its expansion, including an electric sports car.
During an all-encompassing interview with Autocar, new Aston Martin chief executive and former Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers confirmed that the brand will grow its line-up of supercars and sports cars.

For example, the flagship Valkyrie is on track to reach the hands of customers in the second half of this year and after it, Aston Martin will push forward with the development of the new Vanquish and Valhalla. Both were initially supposed to use an in-house developed V6 but to save costs, they will instead feature electrified powertrains from AMG.
In addition, Aston Martin will launch a second variant of the DBX that is expected to feature an AMG straight-six mild-hybrid. It will be followed up by a flagship version that rivals the Lamborghini Urus in 2022. The automaker is also planning to update the current Vantage, DB11, and DBS Superleggera.
Then we come to the electrification plans. Moers indicated that Aston Martin will look to use a skateboard-style architecture that can underpin a host of different vehicles. Among the EVs being planned by the British car manufacturer is an electric sports car, although details about it are scarce; Moers said it should arrive in 2025 once the automaker’s current front-engined models have run their course. An electric version of the DBX is also expected.
