The Mercedes-Benz GLB fell onto Brabus’ lap last summer, with the German tuner giving the compact SUV a makeover and a mildly boosted engine in the 250 specification.
If you were impressed by Brabus’ GLB 250, that precise car is being offered for sale for the lowly sum of €78,421, or nearly $95,000 at current exchange rates, with the German outfit dropping almost €10,000 ($12,100) from its initial asking price. Still, that’s a lot to swallow as it puts it around €31,000 ($37,525) over the standard GLB 250 4Matic. For that kind of money, you could jump into a brand new E400d All-Terrain in Germany.
The 2021 GLB 250 4Matic has a starting price of $40,050 in the United States, though due to taxes and other country-specific fees, MSRPs can’t be directly compared.
Our Review: 2020 Mercedes GLB 250 4MATIC Is A Stunningly Practical, Yet Rather Dull, Offering
Offered for sale on their official website next to other tuned Mercedes vehicles, Brabus’ GLB 250 is listed with delivery mileage. The B25, which is its official designation, comes with darkened trim, a ground effects kit, roof-mounted LED lights and 8.5×20-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 255/40 tires. Inside, you’ll find custom scuff plates, pedal pads and floor mats.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 270 PS (267 HP / 199 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque with the performance kit up and running. That’s a 46 PS (45 HP / 34 kW) and 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) boost over the standard GLB 250 4Matic, which allows it to complete the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 6.6 seconds and max out at 240 km/h (149 mph). The average fuel economy is rated at 7.4 l/100 km (31.8 mpg US), according to Brabus, and the compact SUV emits 168 g/km of CO2.
