Genesis’ European offensive is kicking into high gear as the company has released the first teaser images of the G70 Shooting Brake.

Released on a variety of social media platforms, the images show a lightly camouflaged prototype that follows in the footsteps of the facelifted sedan.

Of course, the wagon-esque rear end is unique to the model and it features a sloping roof as well as an angular liftgate. We can also see a long spoiler, split taillights and a distinctive third brake light with a V-shaped accent.

Genesis didn’t say much about the model, but confirmed the G70 Shooting Brake is “coming soon.” The company went on to say fans should get ready to “welcome a new, eye-catching member to our family of Athletic Elegance.”

While Genesis is staying tight-lipped, the standard G70 is available with three different engines in South Korea. On the petrol side, there’s a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 249 hp (185 kW / 252 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque as well as a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 that develops 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm). Customers can also get a 2.2-liter turbodiesel pumping out 199 hp (149 kW / 202 PS) and 376 lb-ft (441 Nm) of torque.

Besides the competitive engine lineup, the G70 can be equipped with heated / ventilated Nappa leather seats, a microfiber suede headliner and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation. Buyers can also get a heated leather steering wheel and a 15-speaker Lexicon premium audio system.

Furthermore, the sedan offers a host of performance features including sport-tuned and adaptive suspensions. The model can also be outfitted with a limited-slip differential and a Brembo braking system.

Getting back to the shooting brake, it will presumably debut in the coming weeks.
