Before you get too excited, the following image does not depict a futuristic version of the Chevrolet Silverado. However, it does depict a truck created within the General Motors Design studios by Jacky Zhan and it just so happens to be something we’d love to become a reality someday.
The vehicle clearly has a very different look than any other current pickup from General Motors and it’s all the better for it. For example, the front end features a blacked-out fascia that includes a couple of thin grilles to help feed the powertrain with cool air. This blacked-out section of the fascia also houses the lower part of the thin LED headlights.
Elsewhere, the futuristic pickup sports an eye-catching hood with the remaining section of the LED headlights, and a number of pronounced curves and bulges.
The sides of the pickup are also particularly striking and include squared-off arches and doors with handles that sit flush with the rest of the body. The truck also lacks any obvious B-pillars, inevitably resulting in a very airy cabin. Zhan has also designed the truck with a white roof to contrast the orange paint adorning the rest of the exterior.
While there is no indication that a future version of the Chevrolet Silverado will look like this, we do know that GM is planning an electric version of the Silverado. The EV will be built at Factory Zero in Michigan alongside the Cruise Origin and the Hummer EV truck and Hummer EV SUV.
