Koenigsegg is putting the final touches to the Jesko before customer deliveries commence and in this video, we discover just how it sounds and what it looks like when going sideways around an empty airfield.
The clip shows two Jesko prototypes hooning around the runway next to Koenigsegg’s headquarters in Angelholm, Sweden and the first thing that will likely catch your attention is just how incredible they sound.
Much like the Agera that it replaces, the Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. However, the Swedish hypercar manufacturer has modified this engine extensively and also fitted it with a flat-plane 180-degree crankshaft. As such, it revs through to 8,500 rpm, much higher than the brand’s previous models, and produces a howl no other Koenigsegg can.

The engine isn’t the only thing that adds to the aural experience of the Jesko. Coupled to this V8 is the automaker’s new nine-speed multi-clutch system that performs near-instantaneous gearshifts and during changes, it produces a bark just like you’d expect from the sequential gearbox of a legitimate racing car.
Not only does the powertrain of the Jesko sound fantastic but it is also very, very powerful. In fact, Koenigsegg says it delivers 1,578 hp and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque when running on E85.
Koenigsegg has capped production of the Jesko to 125 examples worldwide with each commanding about $3 million before taxes and options. Deliveries were initially expected to start late last year, but were delayed.
