Presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show without an apostrophe in its name, the third-generation Kia Ceed is now getting ready for its mid-cycle refresh.
The 2022 Proceed was already spotted testing last week, and now the regular hatchback and estate (SW) models have made their spy debut too, and we expect the XCeed jacked-up model to follow shortly.

At the front, the two appear to be featuring the same revisions as the more stylish-looking wagon, namely a new interpretation of the tiger-nose grille and LED headlights with repositioned DRLs. That big hump at the back hides more changes, such as the new taillights with different graphics and probably a reshaped bumper with a new diffuser.
We have yet to take a peek inside, but the prototypes still have a floating-style infotainment system. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean that it won’t feature new software. The upholstery and trim might be refreshed too, but other than that, the 2022 Kia Ceed hatchback and estate will likely be identical to their predecessors.
Details surrounding the engine lineup are very scarce at the moment, yet it’s been reported that it might soldier on with the current powertrains, perhaps with minor revisions. The plug-in hybrid variant will live on, and in the current Ceed, it combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor that generates 60 HP, for a total output of 139 HP and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque. The assembly is backed up by an 8.9 kWh battery, which gives it an electric range of around 35 miles (56 km).
