In stock form, the Range Rover Velar isn’t the type of vehicle that will throw you back in the seat and leave you breathless with its performance. However, the flagship Velar SVAutobiography is quite rapid and this particular example from Manhart adds even more performance.

Powering the Velar SVAutobiography is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that pumps out 542 hp and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. It can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and continue through to a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). Last year, Manhart announced an upgrade package for the SUV and in this video, we get to see what it is made of on the Autobahn.

Thanks to a remap of the ECU and the fitment of a new exhaust, Manhart has been able to extract 592 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). A 10 percent increase in horsepower and torque may not seem like all that much, but in the real world, it is certainly noticeable. What’s also noticeable from this video is how good a Velar tuned by Manhart sounds.

During the clip, the driver of the Range Rover pins the throttle and in the first run, tops out at a touch over 280 km/h (174 mph) along an empty stretch of Autobahn. In the second run, the SUV tops out at 296 km/h (184 mph) before the driver backs off the throttle.

Those who bring their Velar to Manhart to be modified can also opt for some visual alterations, including the fitment of new wheels and some matte black decals.
