The MC20 launched at the same time that many car manufacturers began prioritizing the electrification of their models and yet, Maserati crated a new internal combustion engine and fitted it into a brand new mid-engined supercar.
A handful of reviews of the MC20 have appeared online over the past couple of weeks and this one comes from YouTuber ThomasGeigerCar. While it isn’t comprehensive, it does provide us with a good idea of what the MC20 is like to drive while also showing it on the move both on the road and on the racetrack.

Sitting at the heart of the MC20 is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that features a dual injection system as well as an F1-inspired pre-chamber combustion system with twin-spark plugs. All up, it delivers 621 hp and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque and is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission powering the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
The reviewer appears to be a big fan of the engine, noting that it results in a car that is very quick and able to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 3 seconds. He adds that the MC20 seems to have a split personality; on the one hand, it is very capable on the track, and on the other, it is also a comfortable car that can be taken on long journeys.
